Who are Beavers and what do they get up to?

Beavers are young people aged 6 to 8 who:

  • Master new skills and try new things
  • Have fun and go on adventures
  • Make friends
  • Are curious about the world around them
  • Help others and make a difference, on their own doorsteps and beyond

2nd Calverley Beavers meet each week on a Thursday between 6 pm and 7 pm at our hut on the grounds of St Wilfrid’s Church in Calverley. Being a Beaver in our colony is all about growing as an individual as well as part of a team. Each week we play games, do activities, make things, earn badges, and have a lot of fun along the way.

Our Colony is split up into Lodges, little teams which the Beavers sometimes work in, named after owls, due to the owls on the Leeds Coat of Arms. These Lodges allow our Beavers to come together and work as a team, encouraging discussion, trust, and friendship.

2nd Calverley Beaver Lodges:

  • Tawny Lodge
  • Barn Lodge
  • Snowy Lodge
  • Forest Lodge

The Beaver Scout Promise is:

  • I promise to do my best
  • To be kind and helpful
  • And to love God.

The Beaver Scout Motto is:

  • Be Prepared
