Group sleepover at Gulliver’s Valley

Date: 24th Feb 2026 Author: Jenny Nutter

On Friday 20th February, 60 beavers cubs and scouts descended on Gulliver’s Valley for a sleepover. After dropping our bags and eating dinner the rangers took us into the park. We completed a dinosaur quiz by torch light in the lost world, used scooters to explore the edges of the park and toasted marshmallows on a real campfire. Then it was back inside to warm up with a disco and party games before bedding down for the night. Not many people can say they’ve slept inside a theme park at night. It was definitely a unique experience!

The next morning after breakfast each section played laser tag, had time on the giant inflatable and completed a morning energiser. We couldn’t wait to get exploring as soon as the park opened. The advantage of going in winter is that the queues were generally short. The rollercoaster, gyrosur and bumper cars were firm favourites. Some members also tried the indoor climbing and caving. The sweetshop was also a big hit!

After a great day in the park we boarded the coach. Strangely enough, the journey home on Saturday was much quieter than the way out!

Thank you to all the leaders and parent helpers who joined us on the trip. We hope you had as much fun as the beavers, cubs and scouts!
