Hunters Greave camp 2024

Date: 4th May 2024 Author: Jenny Nutter

On Saturday 27th April, 2nd Calverley kicked off our camping season! 21 Cubs and 9 Scouts braved the cold and arrived at Hunters Greave ready for an adventure. After pitching their tents the cubs and scouts took part in a wide range of activities including lighting fires, (soft) archery, (soft) axe throwing, den building and the wonderful assault course. They were joined by the beavers in the afternoon, who got stuck straight into the activities. After dinner the cubs and scouts gathered round the fire for campfire popcorn, songs and smores. After a few games of hide and seek in the dark it was time for bed.

After a chilly night we woke up to persistent rain. The young people showed excellent resilience and didn’t let it stop them enjoying their breakfast wraps! Well done everyone. Many thanks to all the adults who made it happen. We can’t wait until our group camp in June!
