2nd Calverley at Leeds Rhinos

On Saturday 14th June, the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts from 2nd Calverley enjoyed an action-packed outing to Headingley Stadium as special guests of Leeds Rhinos Rugby League Club.

The day kicked off with the younger members proudly forming the guard of honour, welcoming the players onto the pitch with enthusiasm and team spirit. Meanwhile, the older Cubs and Scouts played a vital role in manning the flags, adding colour and energy to the pre-match festivities.

Joined by their families in the stands, the group then watched an exciting game unfold — made even better by a thrilling win for the Rhinos, much to the delight of their young supporters.

To round off the memorable experience, many stayed on for the post-match “Party on the Pitch”, where DJ Pat Sharp provided the tunes. The celebration brought a perfect end to a day full of team pride, fun, and unforgettable moments.

Joseph said it was ‘The best day ever’ and the highlight for many was getting selfies and autographs with the Rhinos players after the match. The evening was a great success. So much so, we’re already planning a return visit!
