Group Sleepover at the Deep

Date: 8th Apr 2025 Author: Jenny Nutter

Earlier this month we held our first ever whole group sleepover. 70 beavers, cubs and scouts experienced a night to remember! The beavers and cubs met at the hut and travelled by coach. We were met at the Deep by our scouts who caught the train and explored Hull on their way to meet us (via McDonald’s). We were given a guided tour by the knowledgeable staff and loved seeing the penguins, sharks, jellyfish and so much more! Next we made our own aquatic themed badges and pencil cases before having a bedtime snack and getting into our pjs. We split into our sections (beavers, cubs and scouts) and settled into our sleeping bags. We drifted to sleep watching the majestic rays drift past.

The next morning we enjoyed our breakfast, taking in the stunning views overlooking the Humber and made good use of our spending money in the gift shop.

It was a wonderful experience and we all had a great time. The Deep manager invited us back and I’m sure this won’t be our last group sleepover! A huge thanks to everyone involved and the staff at the Deep for looking after us so well.
